What happens on Wed 4 Nov

One warrior pulls and pulls. Then another. The foot does not move! Whose foot is it? A vanara's, planted in the middle of Ravan's crowded court. It is Angad, Bali's son, and his foot is as if rooted in the ground. Then the whole court goes silent, because Ravan himself gets up. Night 15 of Naani Ki Ramayan.

The full story — what Naani tells, the pictures, the question she asks your child halfway and the conversation to have afterwards — appears on this page on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, the night it opens in the Naani app.

Parents also ask

Is Kumbhakarna's death too sad for small children?

Naani tells it gently and honestly. There are no wounds and no fear: the last arrow is a light like the sun, Kumbhakarna slowly lies down "like a mountain lying down", and the field goes quiet. Naani says plainly that he will not rise again, so children are not confused, and then Ram lowers his bow and honours him: "He was brave… if only he had chosen the right path." Vibhishan bows his head and Ram puts a hand on his shoulder. Many children feel a little sad here, which is a good moment to hold them close.

Why did Kumbhakarna fight for Ravan if he knew Ravan was wrong?

In the Ramcharitmanas, Kumbhakarna tells Ravan that taking Sita was wrong, but will not abandon his brother. Naani gives both sides one line each and does not praise his choice: Ram calls him brave but wishes he had chosen the right path. It is a gentle way to talk with your child about loyalty, and about why doing right sometimes means not going along with someone you love.

Why couldn't anyone move Angad's foot?

In the Lanka Kand of the Ramcharitmanas, Angad goes to Ravan's court as Ram's messenger of peace and challenges anyone to move his foot. None of Ravan's warriors can. When Ravan himself bends to try, Angad tells him to hold Ram's feet instead, because only that would save him. Naani lets the foot stand for Angad's faith in Ram: it cannot be moved.
